Born 1934. Since the retirement in 1997 became Research Associate
in the Botanical Museum, Finnish Museum of Natural History. In recent
years mainly worked on taxonomy of the lichens of the family Cladoniaceae
of Europe and little known areas such as Alaska, Africa, India and northern
South America. Also participated in international projects on Parmeliaceae
and in floristic work on lichens in Finland, Scandinavia, NW Russia, Canada,
and Alaska. Recent study trips abroad: Russian Far East (2012), Aleutian
Islands (2011), Newfoundland (2007, 2011, 2014, 2015), Canada and
Wisconsin (2013), Turkey (2014).
