Delectus Seminum – Seed exchange

Botany unit of the Finnish Museum of Natural History participates in the international non-commercial seed exchange programme of botanical institutions. Delectus Seminum (ISSN 0357-2641) is a list of seeds and spores available for order, consisting predominantly of native Finnish species collected from the wild. The list is published biennially and sent to approximately 200 botanical gardens, arboreta, and related institutions all over the world. If you wish to be on our mailing list please contact the curator at hortus-botanicus@helsinki.fi .

Researchers and institutions not currently on our mailing list have the possibility to request available seeds or spores by contacting the curator. We also welcome requests of material not listed in our Delectus, should you have reason to believe that we are able to provide the material you need. The eligibility of requests outside the established seed exchange programme is evaluated case by case.

We emphasize that anyone, institution or individual, who requests plant material from us, must comply with the priciples and the spirit of the Nagoya Protocol.
